The highly anticipated Finn Bridge Project has been successfully completed by Fermanagh based, Deane Public Works. Pedestrians are now able to cross the €80,000 footbridge between Ballybofey and Stranorlar.
The construction of the new Finn Footbridge came about as a result of safety concerns regarding pedestrian movements over the existing bridge between Ballybofey and Stranorlar. The overall project is a result of Donegal County Council placing a greater emphasis on the safety of pedestrian foot-traffic through local urban environments.
We worked with Doran Consulting Engineers on the design of Gumba Pot Bearings to BS 1337-5. Designed a number of Fixed and Guided Bearings for this complex infrastructural project.
The structure is set to bring an immediate benefit to the local community, allowing for the safe transit of pedestrians between the two adjoining towns of Ballybofey and Stranorlar. SDG Construction were appreciative of the opportunity to supply the bridge bearings, and as always were happy to further our excellent working relationship with Deane Public Works.
